As most of you know, Lei Ming (Ray to us Yankees) has been in the United States promoting his memoir, Life Beyond My Body: A Transgender Journey to Manhood in China, which I co-authored. Ray has gone home to China with an address book full of new friends and a Lambda Literary award in his baggage.

Now what?

Well, now it is up to you and me to share his story.  There are three ways you can help below, so please keep reading.

Dear friends,

Ray returned to China last month. He arrived safely, but we do not know when or if he will return to the U.S.

Thank you to everyone who befriended him, attended one of his readings, helped fund his book tour, or hosted him while he was in the States. I know your support has meant a lot to him.

Because Facebook and Twitter are blocked in China, Ray will not be able to post updates on his social media pages. However, if he sends a note for this blog, I will post it.

Before he left, Ray signed several copies of Life Beyond My Body: A Transgender Journey to Manhood in China. So, if you would like a signed copy of this 2017 Lambda Literary award winner, contact me via email or phone. Due to shipping prices between the U.S. and China, these will be the last signed copies unless Ray visits the States again the the future.

Meanwhile, we hope to continue to share Ray’s story with readers in the West through radio interviews, articles, and his memoir. Here are 3 ways you can help:

• Interview Ray: Media inquiries can be sent directly to Ray via email, but if you have any trouble reaching him, feel free to contact me via email or phone.
• Request your local libraries and book stores carry the book: Most libraries have a form on their website for requesting books. Have a favorite local bookstore? Ask the staff how to request they carry Life Beyond My Body.
• Recommend Life Beyond My Body to your friends: Review it on Amazon, share our social media posts, or just use good old fashioned word of mouth to tell people about Ray’s memoir.
